Virus Bulletin is seeking submissions from those wishing to present papers at VB2025, the 35th Virus Bulletin International Conference, which will take place 24-26 September 2025 in Berlin, Germany.
The Virus Bulletin (VB) Conference is one of the longest running security conferences in the world. It attracts some of the industry's brightest minds and provides a friendly environment in which serious research can be outlined and discussed with peers from around the world.
We welcome submissions on all aspects of digital security, from the very technical to the more general, whether you are an experienced speaker or a first-time presenter, and whether you are based in Berlin or the other side of the world.
The conference has a broad focus, but has always concentrated on analysing and preventing real-world attacks: from malware analyses to APT campaign investigations; from tools that help with research to new detection methods; from attacks against the BIOS to research into global infection rates. We also welcome 'out-of-the-box' submissions.
We are particularly interested in hearing from speakers who can share their experience from the real world, who are employed by businesses, governments or NGOs and tasked with securing systems and fending off attacks.
You will be expected to give a 30-minute presentation at VB2025 in Berlin.
You will also need to send us a full, written paper to accompany your presentation by 10 June. The papers (which will be published in the VB2025 Conference Proceedings and, later, on the Virus Bulletin website) are an essential part of the conference, as they provide a detailed back-up of the material presented at the event — in many cases, the written papers will be able to provide information in greater depth than is possible in a 30-minute presentation, and many speakers find it useful to refer the audience to their paper in order to save time going over details in the presentation.
We will edit your paper for style, grammar and consistency, and we will send you an edited version of the paper for approval prior to its publication.
Please use our online abstract submission form to submit a paper proposal for VB2025. You will need to include:
The abstract submission form can be found here.
Following the close of the call for papers all submissions will be reviewed by a selection committee; authors will be notified of the status of their paper by email. We aim to notify those whose papers have been selected approximately 10-14 days after the close of the call for papers.
One presenter per selected paper will be offered a complimentary conference registration, while co-authors will be offered registration at a 40% reduced rate (up to a maximum of two co-authors).
VB regrets that it is not able to assist with speakers' travel and accommodation costs.
Should you have any queries about the call for papers, please get in touch: [email protected].
