This presentation is a case study into an investigation against an international malware writing group. The investigation spanned over several years, and included law enforcement from the United Kingdom and Finland. The investigation resulted in arrests in multiple jurisdictions and successful convictions. The authors of the presentation were involved in the investigation from the beginning to the end. The "m00p" group used several advanced methods in their attacks, and even had a front-end company to disguise the criminal activity. Bob Burls and Mikko Hyppönen will detail the investigation from both the law enforcement and anti-virus industry perspective.
