Microsoft corporate security product goes into public test.
Microsoft's long-awaited corporate security suite, Forefront Client Security, has been released to public beta. The new product, combining the anti-virus and anti-spyware technologies acquired by Microsoft in recent years, is aimed at the business market and is expected to be competitively priced.
Two Forefront server-side products, based on Sybari's Antigen and integrating AV engines from several vendors, are already in beta, and volume-licence release has been scheduled for December. The beta of the client comes somewhat late, with the full release expected in June 2007 rather than the January of earlier predictions.
A Q&A on the beta announcement can be found here, while the main Forefront Client site, with links to the beta download area, is here.
