Research group releases report on future spam trends.
Technology market research firm The Radicati Group has unveiled an in-depth study of likely future trends in the European email security world over the next five years, featuring some grim figures for email users. With current spam rates at around 16 billion per day across the continent, the researchers anticipate a massive 38 billion per day in 2010.
In the same period, the anti-spam and general email security market, covering software, appliances and managed services, is expected to grow from its current size of around €920 million to €1,624 million. Also covered by the study are predictions for the future of products and trends in vendor strategies.
The Radicati Group's announcement of the study can be found here (PDF format), while the full report can be purchased for a substantial fee from their website here.
