AVG developer acquires Ewido Networks.
Anti-Virus vendor Grisoft has announced the acquisition of German anti-malware firm Ewido Networks.
Although one of the smaller players in the AV industry, Grisoft's product AVG has proved popular with consumers. The company claims to be one of the fastest growing in the industry, with more than 30 million users around the world. According to Karel Obluk, CTO of Grisoft, 'The acquisition of Ewido Networks is the first step in fulfilling our vision of easy to use comprehensive protection against all kinds of cyber threats.'
Grisoft will be releasing new versions of the AVG and Ewido products in the next quarter.
